Some days, no matter how sunny they are, seem to be shackled in the dungeon of sadness.

Some days, no matter how sunny they are, seem to be shackled in the dungeon of sadness. This ought not be.

Spouses bicker for no reason. Children scream for food they aren't hungry for. Dogs bark even though no one is at the door... or down the street. The sun is high, bright, and charming, but no one is charmed.

This ought not be.

The bleak bitter grays belie the warmth of the day. Flowers droop despite being well fed. Coffee is sugar-stirred, but misses the sweetness. The mailman fills the box with letters, and not one lifts your heart.

This ought not be.

She says to you she loves you, taking your hand, but you are lonely. Your team wins the big game, and you watch, uncheering. There's a penny on the sidewalk, and you walk on by.

This ought not be.

Today should not wait until tomorrow.

It is sunny now.

Let there be light.
