Justin Bieber? Jonas Brothers?

Justin Bieber? Jonas Brothers? Why not Leif Garrett or Shaun Cassidy? They are all just posters on the wall to be forgotten in 20 years.

Love is fickle. Especially teenage love. Especially teenage love based on heavily marketed personas.

Farrah Fawcett was beautiful, but ultimately, no one cared after they realized she was not smart. This isn't a question of character, but simply of attraction.

Mel Gibson everyone loved, and even more so as he boldly stood up for his Christian faith, but when he announced in drunken episode racial remarks, he was nothing. Nothing.

Garrett and Cassidy? Heartthrobs of the preteen set many years ago. No scandals ruined them. Just forgotten as their posters faded on the walls as the girls fell in love with men they would marry, not pretend to dance with on lonely Friday nights at age 12.

Enjoy it all, the romance, the dream. And may you never compare whomever becomes your one true love with a poster boy, no matter how cute he is.
